Aed Yaghi’s oproep: “Stop gedwongen verplaatsing, herstel Gaza’s zorgstelsel.”
Vorige week bracht Kifaia voorzitter Lydia de Leeuw wederom een bezoek aan vrienden in Caïro die de genocide Gaza zijn ontvlucht. Ze sprak tweemaal uitgebreid met Aed Yaghi, directeur van PMRS in Gaza, de partner van Kifaia.
Aed’s boodschap aan de buitenwereld, als directeur van PMRS:
Alllereerst: stop gedwongen verplaatsing van de Palestijnen in Gaza. Maak werk van het herstel van de gezondheidscentra en ziekenhuizen in Gaza. En zorg ervoor dat de 20.000+ patiënten daar Gaza uit kunnen reizen voor hun noodzakelijke medische behandeling.
Internationaal moet met een tegenbeweging organiseren die weerstand biedt tegen Trumps plannen voor gedwongen migratie van Palestijnen, met name uit Gaza.
Er moet voldoende financiering voor de volledige wederopbouw van Gaza worden geregeld en de wederopbouw moet worden versneld. Landen moeten voldoende financiering garanderen voor UNRWA zodat de organisatie haar essentiële diensten in Gaza kan voortzetten.
Zorg voor volledige bewegingsvrijheid via de grensovergang Rafah, met name voor patiënten, medische teams en alle goederen incl. medicijnen, incl. de terugkeer van mensen naar Gaza.
Mensen moeten kunnen terugkeren naar hun huizen en hun werk.

Een bericht aan onze vrienden in Nederland en de stichting Kifaia: jullie inspanningen tijdens de genocide, jullie financiële steun en solidariteit, om de voortzetting van ons werk in Gaza te garanderen, worden zeer gewaardeerd.”
Wij, Palestijnen, willen vrede en vrijheid, net als de rest van de wereld. Daarbij hebben we jullie steun nodig, totdat het einde van de bezetting en apartheid een feit is.
Vechten voor het einde van de bezetting en apartheid in Palestina betekent vechten in het belang van de gehele mensheid.
Aed over het PMRS team in Gaza
Zij zijn “fighter for humanity”. Hij valt stil. Onderdrukt zijn emoties. “Ik heb er er geen woorden voor. They are amazing.”
Aed over zijn persoonlijke situatie
Wat nu het moeilijkste voor me is zijn de talloze hulpverzoeken uit Gaza die ik iedere dag krijg en waar ik niet kan helpen. Het gaat vaak om ‘eenvoudige’ verzoeken; iets als een rolstoel of medicijnen of het bieden van een werkplek zodat mensen geld kunnen verdienen. Het pijnigt me wanneer ik niets kan doen.
Zodra het mogelijk is, keren mijn vrouw en ik terug naar Gaza. Het maakt niet uit waar we moeten slapen, al is het op de grond, in een kantoortje of in een auto, ik wil terug naar Gaza. Ik wil weer bij mijn mensen zijn.
Ruim 60 leden van mijn familie zijn vermoord in bombardementen.

Aed Yaghi’s Call: "Stop Forced Displacement, Restore Gaza’s Healthcare System."
Last week, Kifaia’s chairwoman, Lydia de Leeuw, visited friends in Cairo who had fled the genocide in Gaza. She had two extensive discussions with Aed Yaghi, the director of PMRS in Gaza, and a partner of Kifaia.
Aed’s Message to the Outside World, as Director of PMRS:
First and foremost: stop the forced displacement of Palestinians in Gaza. Work on restoring the healthcare centres and hospitals in Gaza. Ensure that the 20,000+ patients can leave Gaza to receive their necessary medical treatment.
Internationally, a counter-movement must be organized to resist Trump’s plans for the forced migration of Palestinians, particularly from Gaza.
Adequate funding must be secured for the complete reconstruction of Gaza, and reconstruction must be accelerated. Countries must guarantee sufficient funding for UNRWA so the organization can continue its essential services in Gaza.
Ensure complete freedom of movement through the Rafah crossing, especially for patients, medical teams, and all goods, including medicine, as well as for the return of people to Gaza.
People must be able to return to their homes and their work.

Aed on His Personal Situation:
What is most difficult for me right now are the countless requests for help from Gaza that I receive every day and cannot assist with. Often, they are "simple" requests: something like a wheelchair or medicine, or providing a job so people can earn money. It pains me when I can’t do anything.
As soon as possible, my wife and I will return to Gaza. It doesn’t matter where we sleep, even if it’s on the ground, in a small office, or in a car, I want to return to Gaza. I want to be with my people again.
Over 60 members of my family have been killed in bombings.
